Summary: Present-day Ghana is home to 80 ethnic and language groups. I travelled to Ghana’s Volta
Region, in search of traditional stories of the Ewe people. In most places, the influence of British colonization has been strong, and many of the original stories have been forgotten.

Bio: Writer, playwright and oral storyteller Gail Nyoka creates for young people and adults. She seeks to help young audiences see the joy and beauty in themselves and in the world, to question the world about them, and to seek answers. Gail was awarded the Chalmers Canadian Play Award: Theatre for Young Audiences with her stage play Mella Mella.
