Explore Myth and the Universe with Dr. Moyia McTier: Astrophysicist | Folklorist | Science Communicator
Bio: Dr. Moiya McTier is an astrophysicist, folklorist, and science communicator based in New York City. After graduating from Harvard as the first person in the school's long history to study both astronomy and mythology, Dr. Moiya became the first Black woman to earn an astronomy PhD from Columbia University. Dr. Moiya has given hundreds of talks around the world about science, consulted with companies including Disney and PBS, and designed exhibits for science centers. You can see how Dr. Moiya combines her expertise in her podcasts Exolore and Pale Blue Pod, as well as in her debut book THE MILKY WAY: An Autobiography of Our Galaxy.
